WAYSC Code of Conduct

WAYSC CODES OF CONDUCT
To encourage fun, enjoyment, positive recognition and the pursuit of individual excellence, we support these Codes.

PLAYER'S CODE
*  Be generous when you win, be graceful when you loose.
*   Be fair always, no matter what.
*   Obey the laws of the game.
*    Accept the decision of the officials with good grace.
*    Work for the good of the team.
*     Believe in the honesty of your opponent and the referee.
*     Conduct yourself with honor and dignity.
*     Honestly and wholeheartedly applaud the efforts of your teammates and your opponents.

PARENT'S CODE
*  Children need a good example more than criticism.
*   Make athletic participation for your child and others a positive experience.
*   Attempt to relieve the pressure of competition, not increase it.
*   Be kind to your child's coach and to the officials.  Our coaches are volunteers,   giving personal time for your child's benefit.
*   Opponents are necessary friends, without whom your child could not participate.
*   Applaud good plays by your team and by the members of the opposing team.
*   Don't openly question the judgment or honesty of the officials.
*   Accept the results of each game.  Encourage your child to be gracious in victory, and to turn defeat into victory by working towards improvement.

COACH'S CODE
*  Develop the child's appreciation of the game
*  Be a positive role model.
*  Visiting teams and spectators are honored guests.
*  Official decisions should be accepted without anger no matter how unfair they may seem.  Winning at all cost defeats the purpose of the game
*  Keep winning and losing in proper perspective.  Losing can be a triumph when the team has given its best.
*  In soccer, as in life, treat others as you would have them treat you.

Wauconda Area Youth Soccer Club Parent Code of Conduct

1. Parents will honor the game of soccer because it sets a good example for the children. Parents will always show respect for everyone involved including coaches, referees, fans, players and other parents.

2. Parents are responsible for getting their child to all games and training on time with proper equipment (shin guards, ball, water, etc.). Parents will make sure players are dressed in club issued uniforms (jersey, shorts and socks) for all games. Parents will also pick up their child on time after training and games.

3. Parents will use only words of positive encouragement towards all players on the field. Parents must understand this game is for the players.

4. Parents will not coach from the sidelines. This is the coach's job. Parents will limit comments during the game to words of encouragement for players from both teams.

5. Parents will stay away from the players' bench area under all circumstances unless called over to that side by one of the coaches.

6. Parents will respect the decisions regarding player placement made by WAYSC board members and/or coaches.

7. Parents will refrain from the use of tobacco products within 100 ft. of WAYSC players at all times.

8. Parents will be held responsible for all financial commitments associated with playing within the Wauconda Area Youth Soccer Club.

9. Parents will refrain from making negative comments about players, referees, coaches and other parents around WAYSC players. Parents must understand that this plants a negative seed in the head of the child and may negatively influence your child's overall soccer experience.
